Ford’s Electric Supertruck Sets Blistering Goodwood Hillclimb Record
The 2025 Goodwood Festival of Speed wasn’t short on headline moments—but none louder than Ford’s all-electric Supertruck setting a new unofficial hillclimb record with a searing 43.03-second run. The battery-powered monster obliterated times posted by combustion heavyweights, including Subaru’s WRX Drift Beast and Porsche’s factory GT3 Cup entry.
With nearly 1,400bhp and all-wheel torque vectoring, the Supertruck’s launch stunned the crowd. Built to showcase Ford’s EV engineering prowess, the vehicle accelerated so violently that it had trouble finding traction on earlier attempts. But when it hooked up, it flew—posting what is now the fastest-ever electric time on the hill and one of the top five runs in Goodwood history.
Ford’s presence at the festival this year sent a clear message: the Blue Oval is serious about EV performance. Alongside the Supertruck, the company previewed track-ready versions of the Mustang Mach-E GTD and announced further investment in its UK EV research division.
Motorsport fans were divided over what it all means. “It’s undeniably quick,” said one longtime Goodwood attendee, “but part of me misses the sound. That silence just doesn’t give you goosebumps.”
Still, Ford’s record wasn’t just symbolic—it’s also practical. The tech inside the Supertruck is being adapted for future road-going performance EVs, some of which may carry the ST badge. There are even rumours that elements of the platform may underpin the next-gen Ford Ranger Raptor EV.
In a weekend filled with exotic hypercars and legendary machinery, it was a purpose-built electric pickup that stole the show. Whether you love or loathe the idea, it’s hard to argue with physics.
